History

Enduro Systems, Inc. (“ESI”) was founded in Houston, Texas in 1975 as JBC Enterprises, manufacturing a variety of steel and fiberglass products. In 1991, it was acquired by First Sterling Ventures, a Houston investment fund, and operated without significant change until 1995. At that time, the overall business model was changed from a product focus to that of manufacturing engineered and technically oriented products designed to satisfy a niche segment within various industrial markets

The business model was also expanded to include growth through strategic acquisition and product diversification. In 1995, ESI acquired Composite Technology, Inc. from WR Grace, a Ft. Worth, Texas manufacturer of fiberglass building panels. This business was subsequently consolidated into Houston. In 1996, ESI acquired Vesca Plastics, a Freeport, Texas manufacturer of specialty fiberglass pipe and Velcon Filling Systems, a Freeport manufacturer of automated filling equipment. The Vesca business has remained in Freeport while the Velcon business was moved to Omaha, Nebraska.

In early 1999, ESI acquired FlexWeigh Corp., a Santa Rosa, California manufacturer of specialty scales and weighing systems. Later that year, ESI acquired Intersystems, Inc., an Omaha, Nebraska manufacturer of specialized bulk material handling equipment for the agricultural industry.

The business of ESI is conducted through 2 divisions, Enduro and Intersystems. In 2005, Enduro moved from its old, downtown Houston plant into a new, 120,000 sq. ft. facility designed by the Enduro Team from the ground up and located near Intercontinental Airport. In 2009, Intersystems moved from its four old plants into a new, 140,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art facility designed by the Intersystems Team from the ground up and located north of the city of Omaha.
